Challenge Images: Spider Web & Distortion

In this lesson, I tackle two challenge images that were sent in by Masters Academy members. In the first you’ll learn how to correct for the distortion caused by tilting your camera up when shooting architecture. We’ll then explore how you can fill in empty areas so you do not have to crop in tightly after performing distortion correction. In the second image, I remove the background on a spiderweb that falls across a background that has both bright and dark areas, which causes a few challenges.

I’d love to see the images that challenge your Photoshop skills so that I might come up with lessons that cover what you need to get better at Photoshop. Submit your images here: https://mastersacademy.com/upload/

Note: The downloadable practice images for this lesson have been compressed into a .zip file. You will need to double-click on the file after downloading before attempting to open the images in Photoshop.
